A native New Yorker, her sustained passion for exacting change led her to Street Smart, which she incorporated in 2008 as Street Smart Youth Project. She has devoted a career to developing programming and projects that seek to empower under- resourced and under-served communities. She describes her approach at SSYP  as “person-centered and culturally informed.” Whether working with individuals, groups, or families she taps into  resources of strength, believing that “long-lasting and effective change comes from within.” Her vision for Street Smart Youth Project, is to facilitate meaningful change for youth, young adults and community members through education, empowerment and transformational exposure experiences. A doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Long Island University in New York significantly informs her leadership style.
