OUR TEAM
Our team is small but mighty, consisting of dedicated youth, professionals, contractors and volunteers. In addition to those highlighted on this page, we want to acknowledge our board of directors, CPAW(Community Prevention Alliance Workgroup) evaluation team, youth and graduate interns, accountant, group facilitators, social media management, community partner organizations and fiscal agent, whose collaborative efforts join together to support Street Smart Youth Project’s success.
Dr. Monique Terrell, PsyDExecutive DirectorA native New Yorker, her sustained passion for exacting change led her to Street Smart. She has devoted a career to developing programming and projects that seek to empower under- resourced and under-served persons. She describes her approach at Street Smart as “person-centered and culturally informed.” Whether working with individuals, groups, or families she taps into their own resources of strength, believing that “long-lasting and effective change comes from within.” Her vision for Street Smart Youth Project, is to facilitate meaningful change for youth, young adults and community members through education, empowerment and transformational exposure experiences. A doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Long Island University in New York significantly informs her leadership style.

Tamica Moon, MPH, CPProject and Outreach CoordinatorTamica Moon is a graduate of Morehouse School of Medicine’s Master of Public Health Program. She has worked in the field of prevention for four years focusing on health inequity among African-Americans and has recently become a certified preventionist, achieving competencies set by the International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium. As the Project and Outreach Coordinator for Street Smart Youth Project Inc., she educates youth and young adults on HIV/AIDS, STD and substance abuse prevention, coordinating individual, community and environmental projects. Tamica also provides our youth and young adults with the life skills and encouragement that will help them accomplish their goals.
